Job Description: As a Senior HR Generalist, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, onboarding, and guiding employees through benefits & compensation, representing both the employee and the company, assisting with employee relations matters, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Human Resources (HR) policies and programs

  • Administer or work in conjunction with subject matter experts (SMEs) regarding HR policies and procedures, including employee benefits, wage increases, retirement, etc

  • Source, recruit, interview and select quality employees to staff various positions

  • Act as primary driver of hourly/salary recruitment and retention activities to include development of staffing plans and the growth of recruitment sources; analyze data to improve quality of recruitment sources

  • Act as first line liaison with employees, facilitating resolution of employee concerns

  • Assist with Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing program and company non-DOT pre-employment drug testing programs as required for jobs

  • Support auditing of clerical activities for accuracy and adherence to standards

  • Assist in planning and rollout of employee engagement activities

  • Attend unemployment hearings as needed

  • Oversees performance reviews and reviews career plans for employees in conjunction with their direct reports

  • Oversees full-cycle payroll process and record keeping ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Creating current processes and recommending improvements as necessary

  • Researches and implements controls within processing system to ensure legal compliance for tax and wage payment obligations

  • Actively engages in audit activities including owner insurance, tax, internal, and year end audits

  • Supervises and provides support to various ad hoc requests as it relates to payroll

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to effectively write complex communications

  • Highly organized, self-motivated with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time well

  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proven critical thinking and project management skills with an attention to detail and strong time-management

  • Proficiency in using MS Windows applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Preferred knowledge and experience with systems and technology that support HR Shared services

  • Previous experience working in the development and implementation of HR programs and processes is a plus

  • Successful and professional ability to influence and educate employees at all organizational levels

  • Effectively prepare and execute employee relations investigations and other highly confidential and sensitive assignments and projects as required

  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities

  • Self-motivator with ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
