Position: Lead Finance & Accounting Analyst

Employment Type: Full-time salaried: *This position is not eligible for remote work.  You will be required to work in-person at one of our offices located in Texas.*

 

Job Description: Provide consistent and accurate oversight of various financial areas of the company to minimize errors and ensure timeliness of record keeping. Knowledge of GAAP Accounting and bookkeeping is required to maintain reliable back-office operations. Responsible for overseeing and reconciling financial transactions with the assistance of in-house tools.

 

Key Responsibilities: Collaborate various teams within the company to maintain accurate records of job cost transactions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconcile entries in the accounting system.

  • Collaborate with Support and Operations staff to ensure processes are in place to maintain accurate records of:

    • Cash flow​

    • Taxes - Sales, Property, Out-of-State use and others

    • Invoicing

    • Job cost

    • Overhead cost

    • Reconciliation of costs and closing periods

  • Database management, ensuring accurate data is being generated by other departments​

  • Internal financial reporting

  • Closing periods and making GAAP adjustments

  • Year-End financial and closing documentation

  • ERP administrator

  • Managing all accounting backend operations

  • Working with outside professional groups on accounting and financial functions

    • PB&H - Accounting​

    • State Tax Advisors - Perfoming work outside of Texas

    • Holt & Hutchins - Legal Counsel

    • Deltek+ComputerEase - ERP

    • Walz Automation - Mail management

  • Involvement with Risk Management and Business Continuity​

  • Corporate workflow management both current and future

  • Metric reporting for all areas of the company

  • Leading integration needs and opportunities

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting and review

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Detail Oriented.

  • Excellent communication skills, in person and written.

  • Basic knowledge of GAAP accounting.

  • Willingness to learn and own new, detail-oriented processes.

  • Leadership capabilities.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Microsoft 365 Suite experience.

  • Experience with Power BI platform preferred.

  • Construction industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with ComputerEase ERP is preferred, however not required.

  • 4+ years of general/basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
